John Owen, born in England, has lived in the Mühlviertel since 1974, awarded by the Leopold Museum in Vienna as one of the top 5 watercolour painters in Austria (exhibition "Meister von Morgen", 2010). Numerous solo and group exhibitions (e.g. Royal Watercolour Society, London); scholarship prize winner of the International Summer Academy, Salzburg. Owen is one of the few nature impressionists who paints outdoors in all weathers and seasons. He is known for his special way of capturing natural light on water with watercolours.
