At the site of the former "Sensen forge at Gries," sickles were produced here for over 400 years and exported millions of times around the world. The industrial pioneer Caspar Zeitlinger led the business to great prosperity in the 19th century. By 1845, he already employed over 400 workers and was thus one of the largest and most significant entrepreneurs in the entire monarchy. A visit to the Sensen Museum is a journey back in time to this past era. Authentically preserved buildings and numerous original objects bring to life the everyday life of Caspar and Josepha Zeitlinger, their family, workers, and laborers, telling of their worries and troubles as well as their dreams and visions.
