Thanks to constant improvements to the paths and planting, this is now a particularly valuable recreational area for the people of Ried. In addition to many places to linger (benches, cosy spots on the banks), 2 artificial ponds and one of the most beautiful playgrounds in Austria are worthwhile excursion destinations for walkers and cyclists. Thanks to its central location, the city park is easily accessible from all sides and invites young and old to get active in the fresh air. In addition to long walks, there is also a fitness trail to motivate you to spend time in this green lung of the city. For visitors interested in botany, the signposting of the trees created by the Beautification Association also offers an insight into the extraordinary variety of trees in the new city park. ***Playground:*** This playground, idyllically situated in the new town park in a meander of the Breitsach, is probably the most famous playground in the town of Ried and was not without reason voted the most beautiful playground in Austria when it was built in 1991. A walk through the beautifully landscaped town park with its ponds and rare tree species can always be combined with a visit to the 3,500 m² playground. It is also located directly on the walking and cycling route from the city centre to the municipal outdoor pool.
