Our honky forest honey ---------------------- The forests that surround us are the basis for the rich and energising forest honey. The bees collect honeydew from the trees and we make sure that the dark forest honey is produced from it, which not only tastes very aromatic but is also good for our health. Our honky cream honey --------------------- The farm's own meadow flower honey is gently stirred until creamy by means of cyclical stirring. During this process, the crystals that form in the honey are finely stirred and create the soft, velvety texture that is characteristic of creamed honey. Creamed honey is a wonderful way to start the day! From schnapps to organic brandy ------------------------------- In the winter months, we used to distil schnapps. The right to distil grain goes back to the 19th century. On the one hand, schnapps was used for personal consumption, but on the other hand it was also used to earn some extra money for the modest Mühlviertel dairy industry. As a farmer's boy, I was involved from an early age and helped out. A few years ago, we decided to build a new distillery as the old one had finally had its day. This opened the door to a new focus on quality. And for new product creations. For us, sustainability and the highest quality standards throughout the entire production chain - from the soil, cultivation, care, harvesting.... right through to the brandy or liqueur is the benchmark for our product lines in crystal - i.e. clear brandy and barrique - barrel storage. Our honey whisky and our GINa Wild-Berry Blue are currently very special product developments. At the beginning of the tour, we provide our guests with interesting insights into the history of the distillery, as well as information on product development and the biological cycle on the family-run farm. Equipped with the knowledge of the raw materials, the tour starts in the mash cellar, where the basis of the fine products is laid. Here you learn how the raw materials are transformed into alcohol. In the modern Kolonen distillery, we explain how the spirits are produced. Via our barrique barrel warehouse, where our distillates are given the finishing touches through years of storage, you enter the tasting room and enjoy the unrivalled range of internationally award-winning products.
