This hike offers you the perfect opportunity to take a break from everyday life. You explore the high alpine region in a breathtaking way without too much hurdles.
**The carrying out of the tour is dependent on weather conditions**
**General information:**
During the tour you are partly in high alpine terrain. Appropriate mountain equipment, surefootedness, a head for heights and endurance are therefore a prerequisite. The necessary equipment includes: mountain boots, functional clothing, backpack, water and food, rain and sun protection, warm clothing - temperature drops are possible even in midsummer, hat, warm gloves, first aid kit, mobile phone, possibly hiking sticks, etc.

**itinerary****1st day: Individual arrival at Ebensee and hike to the Riederhütte**
After your arrival at Ebensee, the Feuerkogel cable car lifts you up to 1600 meters above sea level. From here you hike along the high plateau up to the Alberfeldkogel with its Europe cross and a wonderful view over the Traunsee lake, the Langbathsee lake and the mountains of the Salzkammergut. Further on, your path leads you through the karst landscape of the Höllengebirge (hell mountainrange) to the Riederhütte.

Overnight stay at Riederhütte.
**2nd day:Via the Schneekogel to the Kranabethhütte**
The highest point of the day is our starting point at 1765 meters above sea level and the lowest is at 1378 meters. The path winds through the wonderful karst landscape, for the most part with leisurely ascents and descents. Initially, it goes in the direction of the Schneekogel. Then you hike along the Kaiserweg over rocky terrain, a flat rock path and a short section over a wire rope secured path to the Kranabethhütte. The phenomenal view from the terrace of the hut offers the perfect opportunity to end the day.

Overnight stay at Kranabethhütte.
**3rd day:Descent with the Feuerkogel cable car and departure**
As a finisher you take the Feuerkogel cable car down to the valley.

**Notes on staying at an Alpine lodge:**
- \*Hut sleeping bag: blankets are available in the huts; necessary but mandatory is only a lightweight cotton/silk sleeping bag liner
- On most huts, card payment is not possible. Take enough cash with you for food and drinks.
- Due to their location, not all huts can offer running water, hot water or showers. In some cases there is also no flushing system in the toilets.
**Local tax is extra to pay on spot in each accommodation (from € 1,-- to € 3,-- per person/per night)**
