**itinerary****Day 1 – Arrival in Bad Ischl – Imperial town & start of the gravel tour**
Arrival in Bad Ischl, check-in and time for a stroll to the historic Imperial Villa, the imperial couple’s summer residence. The perfect start to your multi-day gravel bike tour with luggage transport. To get you in the mood, an original Zauner stollen awaits you at the legendary Zauner patisserie – sweet, rich and iconic.

**Day 2 – Gravel bike tour from Bad Ischl to Bad Aussee | 70 km | 1,700 hm**
You’ll ride along the River Traun to Bad Goisern before tackling the steep climb up to the Ewige Wand – one of the most spectacular gravel sections in the Salzkammergut: short rock tunnels, exposed gravel trails and an incredible view of Lake Hallstatt and the Dachstein. The descent takes you down to the lake and onto the East Shore Trail. At the Seeraunzn, freshly caught fish awaits – regional specialities at their finest. You’ll travel by boat to Hallstatt, often described as the most beautiful lakeside town in the world. A spectacular climb along the wild Koppentraun leads into the Styrian Ausseerland region. Onwards to Lake Grundl, to Gössl (James Bond vibes guaranteed) and the mystical Lake Toplitz, around which legends of sunken treasure have been circulating for decades. Back at the hotel, you can relax in the pool and sauna with views of the mountains – the perfect end to a long day on the gravel.

**Day 3 – Gravel bike tour from Bad Aussee to the Stodertal | 80 km | 1,800 m elevation gain**
From Bad Aussee, you’ll ride towards Bad Mitterndorf to the imposing Kulm ski flying hill, then on to picturesque Pürgg. A fantastic downhill ride takes you into the Enn Valley, where the route runs along the southern faces of the Totes Gebirge – a landscape that is both majestic and rugged. In the Enn Valley, there’s time for hearty Styrian Kasnockn – the perfect fuel before tackling the Pyhrn Pass. The climb over the pass leads into the Pyhrn-Priel region, on to Lake Gleinkersee and finally into the alpine pastures of Vorderstoder. The hotel offers a sauna, a swimming pool and a panoramic view of the mountains – relaxation at 1,000 metres above sea level.

**Day 4 – Gravel riding from the Stodertal valley to the Almtal valley | 65 km | 1,100 m elevation gain**
The day begins in the Ski World Cup resort of Hinterstoder, where you’ll cycle towards Schiederweiher – complete with picture-postcard views of the Großer Priel and Spitzmauer. The route continues along the crystal-clear River Steyr, where ‘Holzknechtnockn’ await you – a traditionally hearty local dish. The final section leads over the Magdalenaberg into the unspoilt Almtal valley.

**Day 5 – Salzkammergut gravel bike ride from the Almtal to Bad Ischl | 65 km | 1,200 hm**
Flowing gravel tracks first take you to Grünau and on to the Almsee, one of Austria’s most tranquil mountain lakes. You then ride along the steep northern faces of the Totes Gebirge to the Offensee (short section where you’ll need to push your bike). The final descent of the day takes you to Ebensee, then you’ll enjoy a leisurely ride back to Bad Ischl along the River Traun. To round off the day, a fluffy Kaiserschmarrn awaits – the sweet finale to your gravel bike tour through Upper Austria and Styria around the Totes Gebirge.
