Starting at the **mountain station** of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car, the trail takes you along the ski slope towards the chairlift valley station and on to the "Tellerlift". You leave the secured ski area at the upper end after crossing the lift track. In the open terrain, the trail first goes slightly downhill and later on uphill again for 15 metres. Here you can explore the **small Krippensteine ice cave** on your own when the snow conditions are low. 50 m after the ice cave you turn half left and walk about 20 minutes northeast along a slightly sloping slope to your destination: the **[Dachstein Shark](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/en/oesterreich-poi/detail/430016189/dachstein-shark.html)**. Enjoy the wonderful **panoramic views** with the **mountain panorama** and the view of **[Lake Hallstatt](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/en/lake-hallstatt.html?utm_campaign=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_source=tourdata)**. Follow the same trail back to the mountain station. The snowshoe trail is **prepared** and marked with poles and yellow signs every 30 to 40 m with the inscription "Dachstein-Hai".
