What could be nicer than dipping your feet in the cool water and refreshing yourself after a hike? The romantic river valley, made accessible by well-marked hiking trails, makes river hiking an experience for the whole family. The path along the river is largely flat and the huge rock formations invite you to linger. While the children put their climbing skills to the test, parents and grandparents can take a dip in the shallow riverbed. It is not only people who are discovering this habitat for themselves. The natural course of the river provides a valuable habitat for pearl mussels, otters and endangered species of butterflies and dragonflies. With a bit of luck, the now rare corncrake or black woodpecker may also be spotted. You can park at the car park in Thurytal. Take the B38 from Freistadt in the direction of Sandl and turn left just before the end of the village, directly after the Pizzeria Venezia (address: Graben 9, 4240 Freistadt). After a few metres, there is an unpaved car park for hikers on the left-hand side. From there you start the short walk to the bathing area (approx. 20 minutes). Note: The Mühlviertler Kernland Tourist Board accepts no liability for the use of the bathing area. **Parking**- Parking space: 8 **Parking fees**You can park free of charge at the Thurytal car park. **Shuttle service**If you wish, our electric shuttle - the Flaps-E-Mobil - will take you from the old town to the Thurytal car park.
