The blue variant is the ideal start for a biking tour adventure. Starting point is the inner Salzkammergut and then you circumnavigate the humongous Limestone plateau in clockwise direction. The majestic peak keeps on appearing in front of you again and again while cycling through the Ausseerland across the Viehbergalm (cattle pasture) into the vast Enns valley. Approaching upwards to the Ramsau, the breath taking southern cliffs will open up to you before leading to the Salzburg area. Leaving the Gosau ridge behind you, you will return to Lake Hallstättersee. Requirements: The classic variant of the Dachstein loop is an individual tour of medium difficulty with few technical handicaps - perfectly signposted. Room check-in and handover of the MTB tour documents at the hotel. Hotel example: Hotel Agathawirt in Bad Goisern **Day 2 - From Bad Goisern to Gröbming, approx. 65 km, approx. 1,900 metres altitude** You leave Bad Goisern behind you, as the Dachstein tour leads straight up to the Pötschen Pass. For the first time, a fantastic view opens up across Lake Hallstatt to the Dachstein. You cycle at breakneck speed down into the Styrian Salzkammergut towards Bad Aussee. From Bad Mitterndorf, the MTB route climbs again. The Dachstein circuit leads up to the Viehbergalm, the roof of the MTB tour. From now on, a little caution is advisable! Narrow hairpin bends take you through the breathtaking ovens down to Gröbming, the stage finish on the Dachstein Tour. Hotel example: Hotel Amadeus in Gröbming **Day 3 - From Gröbming to Annaberg, approx. 80 km, approx. 2,300 metres altitude** Chain right! The Dachstein tour leads from Gröbming down to the Enns and flat to Weißenbach before heading up to Ramsau am Dachstein. You mountain bike along the towering, mighty south faces of the Dachstein. The MTB route continues at a leisurely pace to picturesque Filzmoos. From here, you cycle leisurely up to the Langeggsattel before flying towards the stage destination of Annaberg in Salzburger Land. Hotel example: Sporthotel Dachstein-West in Annaberg **Day 4 - From Annaberg to Bad Goisern, approx. 70 km, approx. 2,000 m elevation gain, individual journey home** The last day of the Dachstein Tour Blue begins at a leisurely pace. You cycle out of the Lammertal valley to Lindenthal. Here the mountain bike tour climbs steeply again. You climb up to the Zwieselalm in the Dachstein West ski region. From here you have a marvellous view across to the Gosau glacier of the Dachstein. The downhill trail leads over the ski piste down to Russbach. Mountainbike over the Gschütt pass back into the Salzkammergut to Gosau. Lake Hallstatt soon comes into view and your mountain bike holiday ends in Bad Goisern. Your luggage will reach your hotel in Bad Goisern by 5.30 pm at the latest.
