After a few kilometres, we cross the German border and continue through the village of Jochenstein, past the ruins of Altjochenstein and Neujochenstein, to the Jochenstein Danube power station. There you have the opportunity to visit the "Haus am Strom". After a further 5 kilometres we reach the market town of Obernzell. The Obernzell Castle and the pottery market are well worth a visit, and we cross the Danube by ferry, return to Austria and continue along the Nibelungen federal road down the Danube towards Engelhartszell. There, Engelszell Abbey invites us to visit and taste its own liqueur. To continue from Engelhartszell, we can either use the cross ferry to take the cycle path (Treppelweg) on the opposite side back to Kramesau and the GH Luger. Or we can continue along the main road down the Danube towards the Danube bridge. We cross the bridge and cycle left through the village of Niederranna, continuing on the main road. After 2 km we turn left onto the cycle path, which leads us back to our starting point in Kramsau.
