The art of brewing beer has been cultivated in Schlägl since 1580. The expertise of many centuries of beers brewed in the monastery has been guarded and passed on for generations. There is a barrier-free visitor center and, since 2024, a new brewhouse. With a capacity of around 60 hectoliters per brew and state-of-the-art technology, the new brewhouse enables more flexible and efficient brewing processes without compromising on quality. Sustainability was at the forefront of this construction project: the installation in the historic granary enabled a unique symbiosis of history and innovation without taking up additional space. Smaller brewing vessels and an ingenious heat recovery system lower energy consumption and thus reduce the use of fossil fuels. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the new brewhouse and the brewing process live without disrupting operations. The new exhibition areas and planned attractions expand the Schlägl Beer World and make the brewing experience even more exciting. With an exciting multimedia installation and surprising mirror effects, the visual beer experience in the brewing pavilion stimulates the senses. The pavilion floats in the middle of the production process, on the gallery of the bottling plant. When you enter it, you find yourself in the middle of an infinitely high cylinder. As far as the eye can see, you are surrounded by distraction-free messages from the world of brewing and beer.
