This alpine hike of medium difficulty leads us on excellently marked paths and many beautiful resting places to the 1572 m high Hochlecken in the middle of the Höllengebirge.
Get inspired now and try the 360° perspective tour!
This charming mountain tour starts at the Kienklause inn.
From there you hike on a forest road along the romantic Zwieselbach stream in a southerly direction. At the next bend to the left, take a shortcut to the right. A little later you meet the forest road again, which leads to the right below the Scheringstein. There it joins the path with the marking No. 823, which leads at the foot of the Adlerspitze and the Gugelzipf in numerous hairpin bends to the Hochleckenhaus. Here, at an altitude of 1,574m, you can recover from the exertions of the ascent and fortify yourself with a hearty snack.
The house owes its name to the local mountain of Vöcklabruck, the Hochleckenkogel, which is popularly called "Hochlecken". After a break, you can either go back the same way
or head northeast and a little later descend through a scree slope. Surefootedness is required here. Behind this steep passage you hike past the
Aurach spring and a little later reaches the Taferlklause with the Taferlklaussee. From there you walk back to the starting point Kienklause.
