LOBENSTEIN CASTLE:

The castle's seven-sided tower stands on a rock. A ring wall built of quarry stones runs from the southeast side of the rock in an arch to the other side. The courtyard formed by this was very restricted by the tower rock and by the farm buildings that were built on the northwestern ring wall. The tower is currently no longer accessible, but served as a dwelling for a hermit in the years after the First World War. The deep niches in the wall thickness of the tower form the actual living part of the castle. A narrow gate between the tower rock and the ring wall reinforced by the courtyard wall of the economic wing is the entrance to the castle. There is no trace of a bailey or a fortified gate.
