Schönau - Movement-Arena

Start is at the Europaplatz directly in front of the Tourist-Info. Here you can get information on the overview board or you can pick up the map "Bewegungsarena" directly at the tourist information.
Cross the Trattnach River and follow the path through the large ÖBB underpass into the center of Bad Schallerbach. Passing guest houses and stores you come to the town hall square and cross the main road here. Here, to the right of the town hall with the Heimatstube (local history museum), the path climbs slightly to the school center and continues past it to a small forest. Behind it you will see the rehabilitation center of the PV and the path leads past a beautiful farm, where the annual Mostkost takes place, towards the village of Schönau. There your gaze already wanders towards the church of Schönau, where you turn right at the fish pond and continue hiking on a meadow path between the fields. Then, on a gravel road, the path leads through the forest to a hill. Here you turn right through the forest towards the Most tavern "Am Hochfeld". With a wonderful panoramic view all the way to the Salzkammergut, the trail leads back downhill. At kilometer 4 (see sign) in the village of "Haag" turn right and follow the path until you reach a left turn onto an asphalt hiking trail. There you continue downhill until you reach the center of Bad Schallerbach. The numerous restaurants are perfect for a short break. Afterwards, the path leads past the photogenic Arena fountain through the ÖBB underpass back to the starting point.
